Region: La Salvadora
Varitial: Catuaí Rojo

Roaster notes:
An obvious comfort coffee and great with pour overs. We had the neighbours asking to buy some from the smell of the brewing.
About the Farm:
This family-owned coffee farm covers 40 manzanas, with 30 devoted to coffee cultivation using an agroforestry system. Nestled among other family farms, it has been lovingly cared for by the same family for 52 years. The current owner- Oscar- has been running the farm for the past 12 years, nurturing the farm’s heritage.
Each manzana is planted with 4,000 coffee trees on rich clay loam soil, benefiting from a steady climate with 1800-2000 mm of annual rainfall and stable temperatures around 20°C. The farm produces around 1,414 grapes annually, carefully sorting coffee into batches and naturally drying it to preserve quality.
Besides coffee, the farm grows bananas, oranges, lemons, and tangerines, supporting both the local ecosystem and the family’s needs. The team includes 10 permanent workers and up to 60 seasonal harvest helpers, all fairly compensated with daily wages of 175.
The farm manages coffee transport with its own vehicle, ensuring smooth logistics. To handle rising agricultural costs, they apply fertilizer selectively—only where plants truly need it—sustaining efficient and responsible production. Two family members remain actively involved, preserving the farm’s deep connection to its roots and commitment to quality.
